Also, applying thin, even layers of gel can help. With fewer active ingredients curing at once, the overall heat produced is reduced.
If you still experience discomfort, simply pause the curing by gently removing your hand from the lamp for a few seconds. This quick break slows the reaction and gives your nails a chance to cool slightly before continuing.
